Cosy Season, Small Rituals & The Slow Magic of Scent

Sometimes you don’t even realise how much time has passed until you sit down with a cup of tea, open up the Isle of Essence page, and think… when was the last time we truly caught up?

So here we are... shaking off the dust, lighting a melt, and breathing some life back into the blog.

The season has quietly shifted while we’ve been busy pouring, blending, wrapping, and tying little pieces of nature into boxes. The mornings have a chill that hangs in the air, the island feels softer, slower, and somehow more soulful. And I’ve been watching, the way people are choosing warmth in smaller, simpler ways. A melt in the burner while they cook dinner. A drop of Calm oil before bed. A £10 gift box that’s wrapped not just in twine and kraft, but in genuine thought. That kind of warmth doesn’t shout — it lingers.

We’ve been quietly crafting behind the scenes. Christmas gifts have tiptoed their way onto the website, Trio Towers of Melts, Hand Care & Melt Sets, oil-and-cream duos, each one tied with string, laced with purpose, and topped with that tiny reusable Christmas tree charm (which I’ve seen turned into keyrings, necklace pendants, and even a bookmark!). Hearing how you’ve used them has been one of my favourite parts.

And the scents… oh the scents have been keeping us busy.

Alpine Escape came in like a breath of cold air — crisp, fresh, with that laundry-clean whisper of wild berries, freshly folded linen, and the kind of wintery calm that feels like standing in a room that’s just been aired out with the windows open. You loved it instantly, and I think it’s because it makes winter feel fresh rather than heavy!

And that, really, is the heartbeat of Isle of Essence:
